Location
The farm is located in the North West province , 10km outside Brits to the north.
Brits is north west of Pretoria about 60km, and 80km from Johannesburg. It is very central from all area’s and has excellent access routes. Within a 5km radius you will find the well known Dikhololo holiday bush resort and Sable Ranch. The surrounding area is occupied by other game farms that is privately owned.
Due to this, security in the area are very sound, as a matter of fact within the last 7 year their were no incidents reported. Only 600m of dirt road to the farm.
Very important is the fact which has being confirm by the department of home land affairs is that there is NO Land Claim on this Property.
The Land & bosveld
The farm consist of 60 hectare of flat sweet “bosveld” with a lot of trees such as white thorn, trees, akasia trees, red bush trees that is good feeding for the leave eater such as kudu. Then one of the most well known maroela trees, which bear fruit in the summer months and the animals love it as must as humans. In terms of the grass 70% consist of sweet grass and the rest is sour grass. The land is fully fenced with a 2.1 meter high fence and the line is 100mm apart. The entrance for the main road is lined with stone pillars and a motorized gate which is remotely operated for the main facility. There are various watering holes and the main water supply for wild life is a big dam. Over looking the main watering hole is a 10 meter high lookout tower for sundowners with breath taking sunset. The tower is also used for other activities like up sailing, etc and it’s next to the bush braai area. There are two fully equipped boreholes which are delivering 3000 l/h that supply two 5000 liter water tanks, which in turn supply the main facility with a constant 4 bar pressure by means of a pressure pump. The gardens are kept green with a computerized irrigation system. The property has got two Eskom connections. One, a single phase connection is next to the dam & tower and was install for future development. The second connection is a three phase connection and supply the main facility and the workshop. Back in the bush you find a “Bow Hide” for the bow hunter next to a watering hole. Through out the farm you will find well layout roads to ensure you will see as must as possible in terms of wildlife. In one area of the farm a granite block going out for the ground on and it form like a nice open area with a granite floor. At the facility a parking area which can accommodate 30 motor vehicles and is under flood light.
The Facility
The facility consist of 1 hectare area of land which is fenced of with a electrical fence 2.1 meters high and motorized gates and is lit up using garden ball lights.
All building are thatched and all walls has being done in African rock art with a lot of unique wildlife art that was done in the rock. The main building is 400m2 with a beautiful huge main bar done in African hard sleeper wood as well as the kitchen and all other woodwork such as the 6 huge pivot doors and spiral staircases. That lounge area is next to the fireplace with the Big screen TV. A dining area is next to the bar with good access to the kitchen and the rest room.
On the first floor on the one side you will find the pool & games room with a two patio’s, one over looking the swimming pool and “lapa” and the other one overlooking the bush, On the other first floor you have a dining area also with a patio overlooking the bush.
Adjacent the main building is a 2 bedroom chalet with en-suite bathroom that can be use be the lodge manager or the owner.
Next to the rock pool is the lapa also out of African hard sleeper wood. The lapa also have a outside kitchen with all required equipment and a pizza oven. The perfect location for a African breakfast and bush braai. The boma fireplace is next to the lapa which can accommodate 50 people.
The 8 person Jacuzzi overlook the fire place and the beautiful African garden and the huge “Koi” fishpond with a water feature running for the conference centre.The garden was setup with minimum maintenance required in mind and is watered with a computerized irrigation system. All the walkways in the facility is layout out with African hard sleeper wood.The conference centre consist of two rooms, one is on the ground floor and the other on the first floor with a patio overlooking the bush. Both can seat the following: cinema style 60 people and U style 40 people. It is fully equipment with table, chairs, white boards and flipchart. The following trophy are located through out the facility: White rhino, Buffalo, Sable, Eland, Nyala, Waterkudu, full mount Lion, Red letchwe, Kudu bull x2 Implala ram, White Thomson’s Cazelle, Bluewildebeest,Blackwildebeest, Oryx, European wild boor and a elephant trunk.
Business Prospects
As this facility is not currently operating as a lodge but where operate previously as a lodge and was stopped by the owner for personal reasons.
